ST. PAUL — Four members of the Kenyon-Wanamingo wrestling team advanced to the Class A semifinals on Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul.
Knights sophomore Mitchel Lexvold (42-3) won by a 7-0 decision over Sibley East’s Aaron Bates in the quarterfinals and will face Medford’s Zach Keller (31-1) in the semis. Senior Chad Lexvold (27-5) defeated Holdingfor’ds Mike Jarnot by a 7-1 decision at 125 pounds and will face Badger/Greenbush-Middle River’s Skylar Price (32-3) on Friday.
Senior Drew Lexvold (43-2) won by a 20-5 technical fall over BOLD’s Jacob Revier at 130 pounds on Thursday and will face Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City’s Larry Bomstaad (37-6) in the semifinals.
Senior Skyler Quamme (22-7) won his 140-pound quarterfinal against Kimball Area’s Caramon Hansen by a 13-11 decision. He’ll face LeSueur-Henderson’s Brett Pfarr (40-2) on Friday.
Junior Derek Melhouse bowed out of the tournament as his preliminary-round opponent was defeated in the quarterfinals. Senior Jarid Groth lost Thursday to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa’s Travis Winter by a 2-0 decision. |
