Updated at 11:33 a.m. on 1.26.12
The suspect is reported to be a Caucasian male, late teens to early 20's in age. He was wearing a camouflage mask and held a shotgun during the robbery. The suspect fled on foot and was tracked for some time by officers before the trail was lost, according to Troy Dunn, Rice County Sheriff.
Three investigators were working on the robbery Thursday. Dunn said Rice County officers were also assisted by the Goodhue County Sheriff's department and the Northfield police last night.

A man in a ski mask robbed the Marathon Gas in Dennison Wednesday night at gunpoint. Station manager, Leona Dohmen, confirmed Thursday that the robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The suspect took cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash from the store before leaving.
The female clerk working at the time was not injured, according to the report from the Rice County Sheriff's office, and the suspect is still at large.
The Rice County Sheriff's office continues to investigate the crime.
Marathon is the only gas station in Dennison, located at 12989 Dennison Boulevard.
